Chapter 168 Insinuating Her for Not Being Likable
Jane did not know why Edward had suddenly come over. When he began chatting with Ellie, Jane was more confused about the purpose of his visit. Fortunately, the atmosphere was good. Ellie had an ability: whoever it was or whatever temper they had, if she brought them over, they would be gentle to her.
It was wrong to think that beautiful women were easygoing. Jane didn't think she herself was ugly, but she had not had the experience of being viewed with special respect by Edward. In a word, for an employer recruiting workers, what he more valued was not the face, but the character.
Edward finished the cake the size of a palm on his plate in a few moments. Seeing that, Jane quietly rose and cut another piece for him without asking him whether he wanted more or not. But when she put the new plate before him, Edward said, "Thank you."
Ellie said, "Since you like cakes, I'll make one for you alone tomorrow."
Edward said with a small smile, "Don't bother. You just got here. Have a rest, and enjoy your time for a few days."
Ellie said, "It won't bother. I'm a dexterous and diligent person. I feel uneasy when I have nothing to do."
