At 9:50 AM, I walked into the conference room at Sterling’s Paris office.
Pierre Durand was already there, seated at the head of the long table, his ebony cane resting against it.
Philippe Leclerc sat beside him, dressed in a light gray suit today. He looked at me with undisguised curiosity.
“Ms. Vance,” Durand began in French, forgoing any pleasantries, “first, I want to express my sympathy for what you have experienced in New York. As a father of three daughters, I despise any form of injustice against women.”
