My Ex-Wife, the Top-Tier Lawyer

Chapter 13

At three o'clock that afternoon, I was in a conference room at Sterling's Paris office with Liam. Arthur joined us via a secure video call for an emergency strategy session.

On the screen, Arthur looked ten years older than his actual age. “The Wall Street Journal has picked up the story. Their angle is more neutral, but the overall narrative still leans towards the romantic ‘prodigal son returns’ drama. This is dangerous. If public opinion continues to build, it could influence the judge's perception during the divorce proceedings.”

“So we need to seize control of the narrative,” I said, projecting a document onto the large screen. “This is the preliminary report from the private investigator. Over the past two years, Julian and Chloe had seventeen business trips together. For nine of those trips, they only booked one suite. We’re still working on getting the hotel surveillance footage, but the credit card records already show that Julian used the corporate account to pay for over two hundred thousand dollars in ‘travel expenses’ for Chloe—including vacations to Paris, Milan, and St. Barts, all listed as ‘client development.’”

Liam let out a low whistle. “That’s pretty damning evidence.”
