As Hubert heard her say so, he did not persuade her anymore. He took out his certificate and put it in front of the staff.
So did Teresa.
During the formalities, there was no communication between the two. The staff reminded them several times that they should consider it carefully as it was marriage.
They didn't want a new couple to become bitter couple after receiving the certificate.

After receiving two marriage certificates from the staff, Hubert turned them over and handed one of them to Teresa and said, "This one is yours."
