Love against the wind

Chapter 5

Of course. He would never show her such kindness without a reason. It was all for Quinn.

She had no intention of donating blood to someone like that.

"I can't. You know I'm anemic."

Julian refused to give up. "Just this once. I'll buy you all sorts of supplements to help you recover afterwards."

"Sienna, please, save Quinn. I'm begging you."

He never begged. But now, for Quinn, he was willing to do all the things he swore he never would.

Sienna still wouldn't budge. Finally, Julian lost his patience.

"I saved your life once. Can't you just consider this paying me back?"

Her entire body froze, as if she'd been plunged into an icy abyss.

Years ago, she had been trapped in an earthquake. It was him, risking his own life, who had charged into the disaster zone to pull her out, getting seriously injured in the process. It was after that incident that she had completely fallen for him.

Tears welled in her eyes, but she forced a smile.

"Fine. I'll do it."

At the hospital, the nurse said they only needed 400ml, but Julian, terrified for Quinn, held her down and insisted the nurse take more.

He didn't let go until Sienna's face was pale and she looked like she could collapse at any moment.

As she left the donation room, she passed by Quinn's hospital room window and saw Julian, tenderly keeping watch by her bedside.

He held Quinn's hand, pressing it against his cheek, his gaze never leaving her for a second.

She remembered when she had been sick, and he had been just as gentle, sitting by her bed.

He fed her, gave her water, even carried her to the bathroom.

It turned out he was the master actor, capable of playing the role of a loving partner with such exquisite perfection.

That night, Julian came home.

He was back to being the gentle, perfect boyfriend, showering her with concern.

In bed, he held her, his hands beginning to wander restlessly over her body.

A wave of goosebumps broke out across Sienna's skin. She pushed his hands away, stopping him.

Sensing her rejection, Julian was displeased. "Sienna, what's wrong with you lately? Why do you keep pushing me away?"

"Are you still mad about the other day? There's an auction tomorrow. I'll take you. Whatever you like, I'll buy it for you, okay?"

She just shook her head coldly. "You're overthinking it. I'm just tired. I want to rest."

Julian was frustrated. He wanted to say more, but Sienna had already turned her back to him.

He had no choice but to wrap his arms around her and try to sleep.

Perhaps from exhaustion, he fell asleep quickly.

But Sienna couldn't sleep. She tossed and turned.

On the nightstand, Julian's phone buzzed incessantly. It seemed to be a group chat where someone was constantly tagging him. She picked it up and tapped the screen. The messages immediately popped up.

First, there were several pictures of Quinn, followed by a discussion among his friends.

"Julian, don't worry, man. We're taking good care of Quinn for you. You just focus on keeping Sienna happy!"

"Seriously though, why are we being so sneaky about this? Quinn's back now. Just break up with Sienna already. Why bother trying to placate her?"

"Yeah, didn't you already buy her that house? The breakup fee has been paid in advance. What's she gonna do, cling on forever?"

Someone quickly countered.

"It's not that easy. Quinn hasn't agreed to get back with Julian yet!"

"Besides, Sienna's body is insane. A masterpiece like that? You'd be a fool not to fuck it while you can!"
