Mike's phone rang as soon as he arrived in San Francisco. He had to take this call whether he liked it or not. With a disgusting look, he took the call.
"Are you sure you did everything you were meant to do?" From the other end, Marilyn's sweet voice rang out.
Mike said flatly, "Yes." He was enraged, but he had to keep his anger in check. He couldn't afford to get into a fight with her.
"Wonderful," she responded softly, "I'll see you both at the party tomorrow, regular place."
