I've never been one to feel at ease at large social gatherings, but they were a crucial part of Aiden's social life. The mayor's banquet, on the other hand, was not something I wanted to attend. I slipped into my purple gown reluctantly and struggled with my hair to get it into an acceptable hairdo. Finally, I was fully costumed into an upper-crust socialite.

"Thank you, you look very handsome, as well." I replied, "are you sure I look alright?" I inquired, my gaze fixed on our reflection in the mirror. From behind, his big frame hugged mine. He was dressed nicely in a tuxedo and looked good enough to eat.
