The broth was still steaming hot.
Afraid of burning her, Sienna instinctively pulled the bowl back.
But Bianca deliberately knocked it over with force.
Tears instantly welled in Bianca’s eyes as she cried out in pain.
“Ah! It hurts!”
At the same time, Sienna gasped. The entire bowl of scalding broth had splashed onto her stomach, a searing pain lashing through her clothes.
Kaelan’s face darkened instantly. He shot up, anxiously steadying Bianca.
“Where does it hurt?”
A few drops had splashed onto the back of Bianca’s hand, which was already turning red.
A storm brewed in Kaelan’s eyes. His face was a mask of cold fury.
“Sienna, I told you, if you have a problem, take it up with me! Cut the petty games! You just had to do this, didn't you?”
“Apologize to Bianca!”
Sienna’s eyes swam with tears of pain and disbelief. She stared at Kaelan, incredulous.
“You think I did this on purpose?”
Kaelan’s expression was one of pure disgust, his words sharp and unhesitating.
“Aren’t you that kind of person? You’d do anything to get what you want. If you don’t apologize today, I’ll make you regret it!”
Sienna’s whole body trembled. She bit out each word, “It wasn’t my fault. Why should I apologize? Didn’t you see I was also…”
Kaelan didn’t even bother to listen. He scooped Bianca up into his arms and headed for the door.
“You better pray you don’t regret this.”
He was already comforting Bianca. “Don’t be scared. I’m taking you to the hospital. I won’t let it leave a scar.”
Bianca pouted, playing the part. “What if it does? Will you leave me?”
Kaelan’s voice softened, patiently coaxing her.
“Never. How could I ever leave you? And whoever caused that scar, I’ll make them pay a thousand times over.”
Sienna stood frozen, a deathly chill seeping into her bones. But the searing burn on her stomach was a cruel reminder that this was all real.
Sienna checked into a hotel.
She was leaving in about ten days. There was no point in the hassle of finding a new place.
She carefully lifted her shirt. The burn on her stomach was already blistering.
When her friend Jenna saw the wound, tears immediately streamed down her face.
“Kaelan is such a piece of shit! How could he do this to you!”
Sienna just shook her head softly.
“It’s over.”
Jenna didn’t trust her to be alone. They had been college roommates, and she knew Sienna’s stubborn pride better than anyone.
She took her straight to the hospital to have the wound treated.
The next day, Sienna received a phone call.
“Plagiarism? How is that possible? I’m the original creator, I have proof!”
Not long ago, she had taken a commission from a studio to design a wedding dress.
The contract was supposed to be finalized today, but the studio owner called to tell her they had received an email with evidence that she had plagiarized the design.
Sienna felt a surge of panic. She didn’t understand what was happening.
She was about to start at her professor’s studio. She couldn’t afford any mistakes.
In this industry, a designer’s reputation was everything. A stain like plagiarism would not only ruin her but also bring shame upon her professor.
She frantically searched her luggage for a good ten minutes, but she couldn’t find the original design draft.
After a moment’s thought, she realized she must have left the original at Kaelan’s villa.
Sienna rushed back to the villa, only to find Kaelan waiting for her in the living room.
Sienna met his cold gaze, and her heart clenched painfully.
“You did this?”
