Ace tensed up too.

I smiled.

"I'll kiss my boyfriend, of course."

I turned to Ace.

"Ready?"

I could feel Ace relax.

He looked at me and leaned in.

I put my arms around his neck and kissed him.

"Whoa!"

More "whoa"s.

They've probably seen Liam making out with other girls, but they definitely didn't think I'd do this with another guy.

It was all so new and exciting.

Ace was kissing me hard.

After thirty seconds, I pulled away and saw Liam's face all dark and stormy.

That's why everyone went quiet.

Ace gently wiped my lips.

"What's up with everyone? I just took my turn, right?" I asked, acting confused by the weird vibe.

"Even though Willow has amnesia, she's still comfortable with her boyfriend," Brittany said, mocking me for being clueless.

Liam looked pissed.

I went to the restroom and heard voices coming from the stairwell.

"Ace, I told you not to get any ideas! What was that back there?" Liam was saying, all cold.

"It's just a game, dude. She has amnesia! You want her to go for you when you got a girl on your lap? I'm her boyfriend, you assigned me to the role." Ace said, laughing.

Liam was silent.

"Anyway, just keep it PG. I don't think you really like Willow to sleep with her, but some intimate contact you should be able to avoid it, I don't want to cause you any trouble, right?"

"Ha, you know me so well."

Back at Ace's place.

I was heading to the bedroom when he grabbed me.

He just leaned in and kissed me.

"Mmm..."

I tried to pull away, but he held me tight.

He pulled back, stroked my face.

"We took a step forward today, didn't we? We can get to know each other better."

I stared at him.

He was going against what he told his friend again.

I didn't get him.

Liam and I were from completely different backgrounds.

He worked hard to get me to accept him.

Then I met some of his friends, a bunch of rich guys, especially Ace.

Ace hated me.

He looked down on me.

That was just how things were.

He was always making snide comments about me and Liam.

I always avoided him before.

But after my "amnesia," when Liam made me hang out with him...

He kept doing stuff like this.

Was he getting back at Liam for setting us up?

My design job was flexible, so I often worked from home.

Ace knocks on the door.

"Work hard? There are fireworks tonight, we could go."

When we got to the lake where they were setting off the fireworks, Liam and Brittany were standing in the best spot.

Brittany leaned against Liam and kissed his cheek.

Liam looked at her and pinched her nose.

Then he turned and saw us.

Liam froze for a second, then acted like nothing happened.

Brittany saw us too.

"You guys are here! Willow, could you take some pictures of me and Liam?"

Brittany handed me her phone.

Liam's face dropped, then he looked at me.

"I'm so happy today! Liam's putting on these fireworks just for me. I want to remember this forever." Brittany went up to Liam and looked at him with love in her eyes.

Liam looked all soft and wrapped his arms around her.

I held Brittany's phone.

Liam was putting on a big fireworks show for Brittany.

I looked at the two hugging in the camera.

Liam was holding Brittany, and she was smiling, all happy and content.

Behind them, the fireworks were going off, all beautiful and romantic.

I took their pictures.

Liam set off fireworks for me when it was my birthday.

Brittany offered to take a picture of us.

I was probably as happy as Brittany back then.

Brittany looked sad.

"I'm so jealous! I hope someone treats me like that one day."
