Chapter 21: Rendezvous
Antonio Beaumont was finally in Italy. He was wearing a brown leather jacket that had a hoodie which made him uneasily identifiable to just anyone except the ones he was expecting.
He wondered why his father asked him to carry a notepad and pen. Also, he wore glasses that made him look like a nerd. His father was a nerd, not him! He instinctively touched the glasses to balance them on his face and cringed.
After a moment of delay waiting idly on a bench in a park early in the morning, he spotted the headlight of a car. He cussed and shielded his eyes as the beam of the headlight dove into them. The engine was killed, and the driver stepped out. Omega Juno Lanfonsy came out looking all scrawny. He wondered what the hell was going on.
"Brother! I can't believe your dad sent you here," Juno said, offering him a hug. "I was expecting a more professional assistant, but it's cool."
"I never wanted to be here, to begin with," Antonio said disgustingly and rose to accept the hug. "Do you know the reason why I'm here?"
"No, I don't, but it's not particularly a good one, I presume!"
