Aella awoke to the sound of birds chirruping happily. She stretched lazily and opened her eyes, peering at her surroundings like a newly born baby. The morning felt and looked so alive and young. The light that filtered from the window was golden and felt surreal, and a tree close to the window cast soft shadows inside the room.

She felt unusually happy; her heart felt like it was floating in the air or she was bouncing around on balloons. She realised that she hadn't felt this kind of happiness and satisfaction since she joined the pack. In fact, since she became a wild wolf. It felt as though she had finally found her purpose after several years of aimless searching.

She sat up and looked around properly, realising that she had woken up in Logan's room and not hers. Soon all the memories from last night began rushing back and she smiled sheepishly. She hugged her knees to her naked chest as the thoughts of what had ensued the previous night came back to her. The way the night had ended wasn't something she had been expecting.

Logan had been a tender yet mind-blowing lover. He had paid attention to her body and set it on fire like no other man had done before him. Her body felt pleasantly tender and well used. The sex had been nothing like she had experienced before.

Like you've ever had sex before. Her wolf old scoffed. Last night was your first, wasn't it?

Shut up, wolf. She sighed happily. I'm too happy to be worried about that.

The room was empty of her mate and she wondered where he was. His side of the bed was still rumpled from sleeping in it. She put her nose to his pillows and took a long sniff. The pillows smelled of him and of their late night escapades.
