Ethan must be feeling deeply guilty right now. Whatever conditions I propose next, he's bound to agree. And Madison, being pregnant with his child, definitely won't give up easily.

I twirled the USB drive in my hand and smiled faintly.

"Ethan, you'll have so many regrets when you find out what you've missed."

I walked out of the booth, took the envelope from my bag, and handed it to the young man who had just brought the hot pot base.

"Thanks for your trouble. Here's the payment."

Ethan found me the next morning.

He looked exhausted, his eyes bloodshot, clearly having not slept well.

"Clara, I already made things clear with her yesterday. She won't appear in front of us again. This is her resignation letter. Can you please give me one more chance?"

He looked at me cautiously, almost submissively.

Ignoring his gaze, I took a sip of black coffee before speaking slowly.

"What about the baby?"

Ethan's eyelids flickered unconsciously. He was silent for a long moment before answering.

"Clara, don't worry. I'll make sure she ends the pregnancy."

I sneered inwardly. That was a small habit he had when he was lying. I suppressed my disgust and spoke.

"After ten years together, I also hate the idea of just ending things like this."

"Do you remember when we were squeezed into that basement apartment? That winter was so cold, and we huddled together on one bed. You told me back then, you said when we had money, you'd buy me a huge house, fill it with heated floors, give me the best life, live-stream our wedding, and let everyone know I was the happiest bride."

He heard a possibility of reconciliation in my words and nodded delightedly.

"I remember, I remember it all."

I chuckled softly.

"I'll give you one last chance. But you have to agree to three conditions."

"Whatever you want, I'll agree to it. I'll give you whatever you ask for."

I raised my hand to stop him.

"Don't get happy too soon. Listen to my demands."

"First, I want Madison to leave the city permanently."

"Second, I want an epic, live-streamed wedding."

"Third, I want to receive the report confirming the end of her pregnancy."

The smile on Ethan's face became strained.

But I had lost my patience for dealing with him.

"Do these three things, and then come find me. Oh, and I've already moved my things out. From now on, you don't need to pick me up anymore."

He grabbed my hand in disbelief, his voice unconsciously raising.

"You moved out? Why didn't you tell me...?"

I shook off his hand and sneered.

"How many times have you even come back to stay in the past couple of months? You didn't notice my things were missing because you simply didn't care. Those few times you were here, you were distracted, just going through the motions with me while being completely focused on chatting with Madison."

"Ethan, I moved out days ago."

I stopped the apology that was about to leave his lips.

"This is your last chance. Don't disappoint me."

This last chance, you absolutely have to fall for it.

Three days later, Ethan showed up downstairs at my company after work. He leaned against his car, holding a bunch of bright white roses.

I took the flowers indifferently, then tossed them onto the back seat after getting into the passenger seat.

His face fell for a moment, but he didn't say anything, just handed me an envelope.

"This is the report confirming the end of Madison's pregnancy."

I examined the report carefully. After confirming it, I put it away.

Ethan let out a sigh of relief, his brows relaxing, like he'd just completed a major task.

I gripped my phone with a cold smile, looking at Madison's taunting texts.

[You cheap woman, do you really think Ethan would abandon me? He said he'll send me abroad to raise the baby, and he'll bring me and the child back after it's born.]
