The day I finally agreed, Noah didn't waste a minute. He had lawyers over right away and was practically rushing me to sign the contract at eleven that night.

"Mr. Carter," I teased casually, "you put way more effort into recruiting me than most guys put into chasing a girlfriend!"

Noah's eyes crinkled as he smiled. "Well, that just proves that loser Ethan didn't love you enough," he said. "He wasn't trying hard enough. Otherwise, how could he have cheated?"
