
A British banker living in San Francisco who was mocked after an article about her daily routine was widely shared says she has been “saddened” by the criticism, branding her detractors “judgmental and jealous”.
Melania Edwards, 31, became the subject of derision last week after the news website Business Insider featured her in a long-running series called “day in the life”, which describes the routines of people in different occupations.
The piece, illustrated with staged photographs of Ms Edwards going about her day, described the HSBC employee waking up at 5.30am each day to “meditate, check in with friends and family in different time zones, and play tennis” before heading into work for 9am. “The healthy Californian lifestyle is contagious,” she said.
