When Shawn Kijewski received an opportunity in 2016 to become the director of strength and conditioning at Cimarron High School, he packed up his bags and moved from Detroit to Las Vegas. Little did he know it would take nearly two years before he would find home sweet home.

“I moved four times in two years, renting in different parts of the valley until my desire to find a permanent home became a top priority,” Kijewski said. “Even though interest rates continue to rise, they are still relatively low and there isn’t a better time to buy a home than now. I’ve always loved the dynamic culture and energy of downtown Las Vegas, so finding a home here was my first choice. I actually noticed Juhl more than two years ago, and when I revisited the community in March, I knew it was home.”

Kijewski said he prefers downtown’s unique urban scene over living in the suburbs. In addition to the area’s vibe, he loves downtown’s location.

“Downtown Las Vegas is centrally located to everything I want and need. Even though I teach in the northwest part of the valley, the freeway is easy to access, and it takes less than 15 minutes for me to get to work. I’m also VIP table security at a popular Strip day club, which isn’t more than a short drive down Las Vegas Boulevard,” Kijewski said.

He frequents Greens and Proteins in The Promenade on the ground floor of Juhl, and also loves dining at Park on Fremont and enjoying cocktails and the social scene at Commonwealth.

“And, because maintaining my physical wellness and health is a priority for me and my profession, I especially appreciate the state-of-the-art, two-story fitness center right in the building,” he said.

Juhl includes dozens of floor plans that are one-of-a-kind, with studios starting in the low $200,000s. Recently remodeled, Juhl boasts an upgraded resort-style pool with cabanas, lobby and co-op working spaces that cater to its professional residents. Private balconies, 10-foot ceilings, energy-efficient design and details, exposed concrete surfaces and mechanicals and upgraded fixtures and surfaces all combine to create Juhl’s cool urban vibe.

Other amenities include 24-hour security; Wi-Fi in common areas; gated parking structure with assigned resident parking and electric vehicle charging station; co-op working space that caters to professional residents; and full-service concierge.

For more information or to arrange a private sales presentation of Juhl, visit juhllv.com or call 702-816-5466. Juhl sales center is at 353 E Bonneville Ave. The sales center is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
