Wallets and credit cards can rejoice as Fashion Nova has been crowned the most Googled fashion brand.
It’s official. Gucci, Versace and Dior were all kicked to the curb by none other than Fashion Nova. Yes, that’s right, the brands Louis Vuitton, Versace and Givenchy followed in second, third and fourth place with Fashion Nova being the front-runner for the last year. We can’t say it’s super surprising that a fast fashion label has nabbed the top spot when you can grab items for as little as $10.
This is just an example that really shows the immense power of branding. Fashion Nova has been hard at work this year creating affordable Kardashian fashion dupes and collaborations with big names like rapper Cardi B.
The brand also utilised influencer marketing throughout 2018 to really push their products. In July, InfluencerDB, a marketing software company that highlights the best performing brands and influencer marketing campaigns on Instagram, reported that Fashion Nova engaged with more social media users than other competitors including Zara and H&M. The brand even got Kylie Jenner promoting their clothing, and to be honest, that sold me.
However, what we truly believe to be the reason that Fashion Nova has come out on top is that they really cater to all shapes and sizes. They place a large emphasis on body inclusivity and their site really represents and acknowledges curvy women of colour which is a big tick in our books.
In the wise words of our queen, Cardi B, “Why designer brands don’t make jeans for b*tches with ass like me?” Cardi B wrote in an Instagram post, giving her praise. “@fashionnova jeans do tho Soo f*** it.”
One of the major secrets to Fashion Nova’s success is that they produce their products at a record rate and quicker than competitor Zara. This brand even had Kardashian dupes of the clothes worn to Kylie’s 21st shortly after the event. The devil works hard, but Fashion Nova works harder.
