If you suffer from dry lips in the winter (who doesn’t?) and feel like you’ve tried everything (#same), Bustle’s Associate Fashion and Beauty Editor Katie Dupere has a routine she promises actually works.
"For everyday, on-the-go use, L:A Bruket’s 017 Almond Coconut Lip Balm is a lifesaver. It’s an all natural balm that won’t dry out your lips with chemicals, plus it comes in a chubby stick for easy application," Dupere shares. She says her lips have never felt softer since using the balm.
If she’s applying lipstick for a night out, she’ll start with Nooni’s Applecoco Lip Oil "to add extra hydration" before laying on a drying lippie formula. "I apply the oil for 30 minutes to an hour before I put on my lipstick, and it gives my mouth a softer, more hydrated look," Dupere explains. It’s her single favorite lip product she owns.
When she comes home after a night out of wearing a matte lipstick ("or after a good makeout sesh (no shame)" she adds), Dupere loves using French Girl’s Rose Lip Polish to exfoliate her pout. "[It smells like] roses and makes me feel super fancy. Plus, my lips love how it gently flakes off any sad, dead skin," says Dupere. She then tops it off with Nooni’s lip oil before bed.
